Good things come to those who wait...
Tom’s passion for health and fitness started through his own desire to be the best athlete he could be. This led to the foundations of his career in strength and conditioning, where he worked with a number of national and recreational athletes who looked to better improve their performance.
This time also led him to become a British Champion Powerlifter during his studies to become an Osteopath. After completing a masters degree in osteopathic medicine in 2015, he looked to further develop his approach to functional rehabilitation with the prestigious Gray Institute in America for a 40 week internship in 2016.
Upon his return, Tom went on to become Head of Performance and Lead Osteopath for a Great British Sprint training group. Here, Tom supported a number of athletes with their strength and conditioning and physical therapy. Many of these athletes have since gone on to national placings and titles, while some even had recent success at the Olympic games in Tokyo.
More recently, Tom’s passion for a broader approach to health and well-being has led him to study another Masters Degree in Nutritional Medicine. His hopes here are to further be able to help his patients with their treatment outcomes and overall health and wellbeing.
This shows the variety in Tom’s knowledge base and this blends into the way Tom likes to work. He can appreciate all aspects of your health, well-being, nutritional status and physical fitness, ultimately helping you to reach your goals and treatment expectations which aligns perfectly with Formula Health’s integrated approach to medicine.
Tom clinically has a particular interest in nutrition, persistent or chronic pain, high-end rehabilitation, neck and back pain, shoulder and knee injuries. Tom’s own hobbies include Olympic weight training, Brazilian Jiujitsu, gymnastics and running.
“In 2019, working solely with Tom, we got to the World Athletics Championships in Doha,
and won back-to-back national 200m titles 2019-2020. Throughout lockdown, we did a lot
of strength training together, and I was able to closely access his unique knowledge and
expertise, which helped me build important foundations ahead of an important 2021 season, where we managed to get to the Olympic Games in Tokyo, winning 4x100m relay
gold!”
“Really grateful for the amazing and professional treatment I have received. I appreciate all the help getting me back on track and being able to play the sports I love with no fear. Thank you!”
“Can I please convey my sincere thanks to Tom for the session today. I have to be honest and say its was the best session I’ve had.Tom took time to understand my situation and took a measured approach to helping to address matters. I was impressed and that takes a lot for me to say.”
